At the AIDG Hub, our mission is to provide a comprehensive platform for Canadian stakeholders to navigate the complex landscape of AI and data governance standards. Through partnerships with key organizations such as Statistics Canada and British Standards Institution (BSI), we aim to empower individuals and businesses to make informed decisions and uphold principles of fairness, transparency, and accountability in their use of AI and data technologies.

Founded in 2024, the AIDG Hub emerged from a shared vision to bridge the gap between technological innovation and ethical considerations. Spearheaded by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) and Statistics Canada, the goal of the Hub is to serve the diverse needs of our Canadian stakeholders while providing businesses that wish to trade with Canada the ability to do so. Inspired by the UK AI Standards Hub, the Hub offers a wealth of resources, including educational materials, e-learning courses, and an AI and data standards database. Through innovative initiatives such as conformity assessment pilots and SMART standards experimentation, we aim to foster innovation and strategic development in standardization.
